Watch the short video above to answer all (or at least some) of your questions.
The Orb Droid lightset not only prevents your lights being stolen but, by using anti-theft bolts, also prevents component theft. Featuring a fully modular design with user-replaceable parts, the Droid is designed to last for years and minimise waste.
How are they anti-theft lights?
The Droid is bolted to your bike using anti-theft bolts, and because we provide the necessary bolts to secure other components, you can also protect your handlebars and shifters, and saddle.
Is the Droid waterproof?
Yes, the Droid is waterproof, and designed to remain on your bike in all conditions.
What battery life does the Droid have?
On standard flash mode, the Droid lasts for 36 hours
Can I use my standard allen key bolts?
Yes you can!
How many Lumens?
A 120 at full power, but it’s the spread of these that make the Droid so visible without being blinding.
Can I see the road with it?
No, the Droid is designed as a ‘Be Seen’ light for Urban settings. It will get you home rolling slowly in a pinch, but this is not what we designed it for!
What settings does The Droid have?
The Droid has 8 settings, High, medium, low in both constant and flash. Two further daylight settings are snake mode and random flash (one LED at a time on full power).
Is it possible to adjust the angle of the light?
Yes! The Droid has a 30-degree angle of adjustment.
How does it charge?
We provide a 3m long USB-C charging cable. Store your bike somewhere without power? A USB power bank will keep you topped up, or undo just one anti-tamper bolt to take your light inside!
What if I lose the specialised tool for removing the anti-theft bolts?
Not to worry, you’ll be able to order replacements both from us, and other online shops.
I want to buy a front light, but don’t want to fit it on the faceplate – is this possible?
Yes, when you order, please leave a note confirming, and we will provide with a locking collar instead of the faceplate mount.

got the lights (back and front) for two bikes because I was tired of having to remove my lights all the time (also meant having to carry them when going to the pub/shop, not ideal). They were easy to install and I have been using them for a few months now, absolute no problem. I am yet to need to charge them 🙂 Very happy.
Nice product bit fiddly to fit and, although a nice idea, anti theft bolts make it impossible to use a torque wrench.
The front light is great. But it is a shame the rear light only has the fixing to attach to the seat post. Back lights on seat posts tend to get obscured by coats in winter so they’re not visible. I wish Orb did a bracket to enable the rear light to be fixed on the back of the rear rack instead.
They were difficult to install because they do not fit the size of my handlebars, so I had to do a lot of improvising. They also did not come with instructions and the video was not helpful because it was filmed at too far of a distance. The lights seem to work ok so far. No one has stolen them yet.
So far, very happy with the install experience and the features. Hope the battery lasts a long time because I’d like to keep these on for a while!
